Daisy Rain Martin

Daisy Rain Martin has spent the bulk of her career in education as well as advocating for survivors of abuse in any form. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction and, most recently, a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She was honored to receive the 2023 Idaho Human Rights Educator of the Year Award from the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights. Shortly thereafter, the Wassmuth Center asked Daisy to collaborate with a team of amazing educators to create 4th grade social studies and language arts curriculum called Ida-Gem. She was featured on a Get Caught Reading poster in 2024, sponsored by Every Child a Reader, featuring the book, Black Birds in the Sky: The Story and Legacy of the 1921Tulsa Race Massacre by award-winning author, Brandy Colbert.

Daisy currently writes full time, provides professional development for educators and writers and takes every opportunity to speak to audiences of all ages about making the world a kinder, better, safer place for ALL.

In the spring and summer, she is an avid gardener and practitioner of doorbell-ditching copious amounts of zucchini, tomatoes and cucumbers on her neighbor’s porches. She has yet to be caught.

Shelby is fueled by caffeine, creativity and a deep love for stories--both reading them and writing her own. When she's not being an all-star mom or nose-deep in a good book, she's designing, creating and building ideas into reality. A self-taught marketing guru with a passion for graphic design and online course creation, she thrives on making organized chaos look fun and effortless.

Sleep Token occupies roughly 70% of her brain space, and she's not mad about it. She's beyond excited for So You Want to Write a Book and is ready to pull out all the stops to make it bold, brilliant and unforgettable.

Let's work together to make the world a better, kinder, safer place for ALL by sharing our stories and promoting literacy.
